Unit 1 Grammar

Unit 1 is about grammar. In this unit I learned certain facts that are useful for my future as English teacher. First of all, I reviewed a variety of topics, which are helpful when learning a language. Personally, I have already know the majority of topics in the unit. However, a couple of new terms appeared. Determiner  is one example. It is used to make clear wich noun is refered to; for example this, that, my , etc. In spite of the fact that I use this words frequently, I learned they are called determiners.
Another word that I remember was compound nouns. Actually, I was  confused with a collective noun. The first one has to be with a combination of two or more nouns, while the other is a noun that refers to a group of people. Finally the last word I was confused was reflexive pronouns, any idea came to my life about reflexives. However, thanks for the teacher who knew how to ilustated ir, I understood that the reflexive pronouns are myself, yourself, etc.

Grammar plays an important role in the English teaching because of two main reasons. The first one is to reach the goal stablished by the teacher. In this way, students have an objective that can be reached throught practice. If a teacher do not have classes about grammar, the pupils will not learn in a correct way. Thus, grammar is important and we as future teachers have to develop diffetent stages to teach grammar: step by step. Thus, teachers will not only teach grammar but also, they will build a good rapport.
Grammar is very important within the English language, since it is, in effect, the glue that holds the language together. With the use of incorrect grammar sentences can become meaningless and their message is unclear. This means that you aren’t able to communicate effectively and the person who is reading your work may well be quite confused as to your meaning.

  3. I agree with you grammar plays an important role at the moment of learning a language and as a teachers we need to find the manner to teach it. I think in a communicative way could be the best option because most of learners tent to hate the grammar rules
